Copenhagen Fashion Week is one of the first ones to present the collections for the upcoming Spring/Summer 2012. Unfortunately, the Copenhagen market gets influencedby other international runways more than it influences others. However, there were a few designers who nailed their collections by presenting fresh and new pieces.
The standouts:
Marlene Birger oresented a minimalistic collection with a mature, feminine yet confident interpretation. We loved choking necklaces and sleek simple looks.
Stine Goya  created feminine all around flattering pieces with some beautiful subtle prints.  The designer featured a collection full of beaded frocks, printed silk dresses, draped trousers in pretty pastels and sherbet shades. The models walked down the runway wearing straight gold hair with the bangs and cat eye make up.
Anne Sofie Madsen went for futuristic and minimalistic look with sleek dresses and chunky accessoiries. However, the designer also took chance and experimented with texture in some of the gowns.
Minimarket was certainly inspired by Cleopatra. Models walked down the runway sporting black wigs with bangs a-la Cleopatra hairstyle. The collection was well refined and soft despite chuncky gold bracelets and serious shoes. However, there were a lot of prints that aren’t very new (read stripes and floral).
Henrik Vibskov approached the new season with humour.  The collection featured a number of unstructured pieces, emphasising wide, masculine shoulders and a lot of prints. Both male and female models were wearing fake mustaches, berets and sunglasses to erase the difference in gender.
