Geox invests on technology for their shoes

The latest invention of the Italian group called Amphibiox Geox. The models in this series have not only the famous sole breathing, but the entire shoe is waterproof due to a patented membrane already used successfully. “Our success is based on technological developments and believe that future technology will bring us luck”: the Geox founder Mario Moretti Polegato has reasoned that the invention during a special session for the press launch of the headquarters of Amphibiox Montebelluna group. “With our products, we want to respond to real problems,” he says.

The scion of a wealthy family of wine growers founded the company 15 years ago based on the membrane of his invention: a film with holes so small that they prevent water from penetrating but the molecules of water vapor escaping the film. Initially, Polegato tried to bring his invention to producers of shoes but could not convince himself and decided to produce footwear with its application. It was a success, Geox has become one of the largest shoe manufacturers in the world. The company has about 11,000 stores worldwide and 1015 its stores. In 2004, the company was presented in the bag and Moretti Polegato family owned 70 percent of the shares. Thanks to the activities of Geox in 2003, Mario Moretti Polegato received the predicate ‘best Italian entrepreneur “, a title awarded by Ernst & Young. In March of that year, was proclaimed Innovator of the Year during the delivery of CNBC European Business Leaders Awards.
